Terms of Service
Last updated: 10 June 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website at emailverificationsoftware.com and the email verification service available through it, including the dashboard, bulk CSV cleaning and REST API (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The Service verifies the deliverability of email addresses using techniques that include syntax and DNS checks, live SMTP handshakes and provider-level identity checks. Results are classifications based on signals available at the time of the check. Email infrastructure is operated by third parties and changes constantly; we therefore do not guarantee that any individual result is correct, or that a “deliverable” address will accept any particular message.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials (including API keys) confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use the Service.
3. Free tier and fair use
New accounts receive 100 free verification credits; no payment card is required. The free on-page check is limited to a small number of checks per day per IP address and is protected by an anti-abuse proof-of-work challenge. We may throttle, restrict or block usage that we reasonably consider abusive, automated beyond the documented limits, or designed to circumvent quotas.
4. Credits and payments
Paid usage is billed in prepaid credits, where one credit corresponds to one verification. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. Credits are consumed when a verification returns a usable result: verifications that return an “unknown” status are not charged on single checks and are refunded automatically on bulk jobs. Except where required by law, purchased credits are non-refundable once consumed.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- send or facilitate spam, or otherwise violate applicable email and marketing laws (including CAN-SPAM, PECR and the GDPR);
- verify lists you have no lawful basis to process;
- probe, disrupt or overload our infrastructure or the mail servers of third parties;
- resell or sublicense the Service without our written consent; or
- reverse engineer the Service except where permitted by law.
6. API use
API access is provided subject to documented rate limits (currently 120 requests per minute per key). We may change limits, endpoints or response formats with reasonable notice where practical. You must not share API keys publicly.
7. Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service, its software and content. You retain all rights in the data you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process submitted email addresses solely to provide the Service.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Verification results are probabilistic signals, not guarantees of delivery.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or loss of profits, revenue or data. Our total liability arising out of the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid us in that period.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, suspected abuse, or where required by law. On termination, unused free credits lapse; we will deal with unused purchased credits in a fair and lawful manner.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be signposted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
